Joan Jett to Perform Ronda Rousey’s Entrance at this Year’s WrestleMania

WWE announced that Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Joan Jett will perform at WrestleMania 35 in MetLife Stadium.

Jett is set to play “Bad Reputation,” the tune that RAW Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey uses for her entrance theme. Rousey also used the song during her MMA career. Jett’s performance will likely mark the close of WrestleMania 35 as the RAW Women’s Championship Triple Threat match between Rousey, Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair was confirmed as the main event, the first time women have been featured in the premiere spot in the company’s history.

The artist took to Twitter to share the announcement with her followers saying, “Ronda Rousey is a girl that does what she wants” alongside a montage of the RAW Women’s Champion in the ring.

Joan Jett joins a list of artists who performed at WrestleMania that include Motörhead, Snoop Dogg, Pitbull, Diddy, Machine Gun Kelly, Skylar Grey and Travis Barker. However, Jett joins a more exclusive group who perform the entrance theme of a WWE Superstar.

Some examples of recent performances include Motorhead performing Triple H’s entrance at WrestleMania 21, and when Snoop Dogg performed for his cousin Sasha Banks during her entrance at WrestleMania 32.

Joan Jett is a founding member of the Runaways, an all-female rock band formed in 1975. The band would record five albums before Jett formed Joan Jett & the Blackhearts. That band would go on to have hits such as “I Love Rock ‘n Roll” and “I Hate Myself for Loving You.”

Joan Jett & the Blackhearts were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.

The RAW Women’s Championship match is one of confirmed bouts on the WrestleMania 35 card. Other matches include: Triple H vs Batista, Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship, the Women’s Tag Team Championship match between Sasha Banks/Bayley, Tamina/Nia Jax, The IIConics and Natalya/Beth Phoenix, Finn Balor vs Bobby Lashley for the Intercontinental Championship, The Miz vs Shane McMahon, Rey Mysterio vs Samoa Joe for the US Championship, AJ Styles vs Randy Orton, Tony Niese vs Buddy Murphy for the Cruiserweight Championship, Kurt Angle vs Baron Corbin and the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

WrestleMania 35 is set for Sunday, April 7.
